Title: CD-Drive Spinning Speed
Post by: Uwe on January 29, 2007, 09:41:22 am
When my PC-Jukebox plays an Audio-CD the Drive spins up very high. The sound is too loud. For my understanding the CD-Rom Speed must not be higher than 1*. Is it possible in MC to reduce the speed when playing an Audio-CD. Of course the speed must not be reduced when copying, ripping etc.

Try CD Bremse, it's a free utility.  Works well =)
Ideally MC would do this also however.

Thanks, i've found this program before. But you have to change the speed manually whenever you rip a CD after hearing it as CD-Audio. It happens often that i have to wait 1 hour for Ripping a CD because the CD-Drive was set to single speed. Best case would be, that you can set up the speed of the drive for playing, ripping and copying separately and directly in MC. Maybe an idea for MC13 or MC12.xxx.

Thanks again, ChriZ
