Hello,
I'm trying to upsample all to 8xDSD (DSD512) but I have dropouts (upsampling to 4xDSD is OK). My configuration is the following:
- DAC: T+A DAC 8 DSD (DSD512 compliant)
- JRiver MC 20 with:
- Audio device set to PDP3000HV ASIO 1.03
- Buffering: set to 500 milliseconds
- Use large hardware buffers checked
- Computer: I7 6700 with 8GB RAM. When upsampling to 8xDSD, processor load is around 16%. Win 10 PRO with AO 2.0
Any idea? Thank you!!!

What is the full version of MC20?
For this type of advanced feature, you might want to try something more current. MC21 or MC22.
Limited bandwidth?
Is the ASIO from the manufacturer of the DAC?
Audiophile Optimizer, perhaps?
What is T & A?

I have the same problem with music files stored on the SSD installed in the computer

Please state the full version #. It's under Help > About.
By bandwidth, I meant that the network itself could be limiting. Or antivirus software checking the file.
-
Full version is 20.0.131
I don't use the network, music files are stored on the SSD of the player where JRiver is installed.
No antivirus installed on the computer, Windows Defender is desactivated.

Please run the benchmark tool in MC's Help menu and paste the results here.

A good machine. It's possible that it's at its limit though.
You're working in an area where not many users go, but the fact that it works for 4x but not 8x suggests that something (possibly including the DAC) has found its limit.
Maybe someone else will have other ideas.

OK, thank you for your help.
I think it's more a buffer issue but 500ms is the max., so... Many users use this DAC to upsample to 8xDSD and it works fine.

I am having exactly the same problem.
My DAC is a ifi iDSD and I also have a quite powerful computer, where I get my files directly from.
I think it is a problem with JRiver software, because when I upsample to 8xDSD using this DAC with HQPlayer everything sounds smooth and cristal clear, problems free.
