Title: Does MC23 Master License work for MC24 ?
Post by: Rizlaw on April 21, 2018, 10:16:26 am
I never seem to get email notifications for new versions of MC for Linux. Does my Master License for MC23 obtained end of June 2017 work for MC24 versions; and if so, for how long?

MC24 is a different license.  Sorry.

Jim, no need to be sorry. It just seems that the license has no "fixed" term like most other software, i.e. one year.

It appears MC24 development started in Feb. 2018. Does this mean that an MC24 Master License purchased in April 2018 lasts:
(a) until April 2019;
(b) February 2019 (1 year from date MC24 development began); or
(c) some other "specified" period?

If this has been clarified in a post elsewhere please provide the link because it's not clearly stated on the Renewal License page under "Questions".

The license lasts indefinitely for that version.

The license lasts indefinitely for that version.
Jim, I understood that.

What I don't get is how long the development cycle lasts between each major version. Is the development cycle between each major release a fixed length of time or does it vary based on some set of stated goals that have been reached for each major version.

Around a year, but it can vary.

Thank you.
