Title: Video re-encoding for Xbox
Post by: pank2002 on April 24, 2009, 02:26:39 am
Hello,
I have a bunch of old DIV3 (DivX 3) files that I would like to "update" to DivX 5 or Xvid. I have never done any serious video encoding before. I need to play back the files on my Xbox but it only works with DivX 5 or newer.
I have tried a couple of softwares but there are so many options. All I want is to somehow change the format with as little quality loss as possible. I prefer Xvid but I guess a newer version of DivX would be as good.

I tried to update the fourcc code but the xbox was not able to play it back.

Does anybody have any experience with this kind of stuff?

Thanks,
Rasmus

Hey,
No I did not try Doom9, but it is a good idea. I haven't gotten a user-name there, though, and there is a lot of smart people here as well :-).

I tried the Super (C) program but I could not get it to proper files. . .

i think is better re-downloading your stuff on the codec you want, you avoid re encode and loss of quality =D
