Title: Pro soundcards for multizone?
Post by: Chad on April 30, 2007, 12:30:23 pm
Has anyone tried using pro audio soundcards for multizone?

I'm thinking Echo Layla, M-Audio Delta44, or ESI GIGAport AG.

I ended up with an Echo Gina24.

Gives me 4 analog stereo pairs and 4 digital stereo pairs, though the digital is output to either a single ADAT or S/PDIF connection.

So far so good.  I obviously overdid the computer though.  Athlon X2 4800+ and I'm playing out 4 zones + serving music to a laptop, and task manager says system idle process is at 96%.
