Title: Stable vs. latest
Post by: dmitch77 on April 28, 2023, 11:23:03 am
The MC version on the downloads page is currently 30.0.93, and it's my understanding that this is generally the latest stable version, per the Updated page on the Wiki:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Updates

My MC (Mac) is configured to update to "stable", and when I manually hit "Check for Updates", MC says that I have the most up-to-date stable version, 3.0.25.

Why is the version available on the download page not the same as the version my MC thinks is the latest stable version?

MC 30.0.93 is on the Download Page because that is the version that works with both MC30 and MC31 Registration Keys

Most of the Post MC30.0.25 Version were considered to be Beta Releases because Bob was having to modify chunks of code to get MC to function correctly under Ventura, which had more than it's fair share of undocumented changes and bugs.

Yes, that's the main reason. There was also the change to pre-composed UTF8 in the database.

I just updated stable to 30.0.93.
