Title: Playing blu-ray in MC: how? Help is out-of-date
Post by: kmmcd on July 30, 2017, 04:40:05 pm
When trying to play a blu-ray in MC22 for the first time, I am prompted to obtain either "anyDVD HD" or "dvdfab passkey." JRiver help for blu-rays also refers to these, with links to obtain them. However, the links are dead.

How can I play a blu-ray in MC22?

thanks

Keith

MC does not natively support playback of DVD or BD.  It requires external decryption utilities to play DVD or BD discs.  If you instead RIP the discs first, using a utility that removes the encryption, then MC can play them movies *files* no problem.

AnyDVD and DVDFab (and others) are commercial software that require you to purchase a license to use them.

JRiver MC cannot do full bluray menus; I use Cyberlink PowerDVD for this.
I use Redfox AnyDVD HD to decrypt discs and then JRiver MC for the actual playback of 2D and 3D discs.
