Title: Calibration
Post by: rec head on February 04, 2014, 04:51:34 pm
After I get another couple hundred hours on my new plasma I think I am going to get it calibrated. I use my HTPC for 90% of my viewing and it will be my primary source when the calibration is done.

Are there any concerns specific to calibrating to an HTPC?

My video is currently the onboard HD3000 but I have been considering a discrete card. Are any of them easier to setup?

Does anyone have calibrator recommendations in Chicago?

Thanks

A little late on the reply, I know, but I'm VERY happy with the monitor calibration tool that I'm using (Spyder Elite)

There are many models available, used a lot in the photography world, the link has a few examples:

To update, I was very happy, until.....http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=78302.0

The dispcalgui software destroyed the Spyder.  I'm pretty shocked at the difference between software with the same colorimeter.  I've also got access soon to a better colorimeter soon, so I'm pretty excited to see the difference there.
