Title: Convolution filter file from REW

Hey guys,

I've been doing measurements with a calibrated mic (UMIK-1 USB) in REW and I am trying to save/export the filter file so that MC's convolution plugin can use it.

I guess I'm doing it all wrong, because no matter what I try, MC keeps saying the file is invalid.

After measurement, I open the EQ popup in REW. I have Generic selected, set to full range and make some slight modifications to LF and HF slope. I set the target level by clicking the link.

Then below filter tasks, I leave the parameters and click 'Match response to target'. I then save the filter coefficients and export filter settings as text.

Neither of those files are accepted by MC.
I can also export from the main menu, those files don't work either.

What does work is if I export the filter impulse reponse as WAV, but that doesn't sound right (maybe/perhaps because I took incorrect measurements?).

best thing to do is measure the output of dsp studio then you can compare directly to REW - https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Verifying_DSP_Studio

if it's the same and you don't like it then you know it is your filter design that is the problem

Thanks, I missed the fact about the file type.

I do need to read more about it, its quite challenging  ::).

Just imported the REW EQ wav file into convolver and very pleased with results.  I used REW after I had completed room correction using Audyssey XT32, generating one set of EQ for the combined L+R including subwoofers.

The CPU load is modest and the results, although subtle, are noticeable!
