MC.

Used to use EAC back in the days before I found MC. With MC and Secure Rip, when the results I got were 1:1 with EAC, I ditched EAC and never looked back. Think I've been on MC since the lower 10s releases. 12 maybe?

Hi guys. recently swapped my aging htpc (with a NVIDIA 1050ti gpu) for a shiny new mini box thing. Lots more grunt, but obviously has an integrated GPU, in my case Intel Iris XE. My tuning process has reached the stage of wondering why Im not getting HDR output. I've looked back and found a few threads on the subject, including several unanswered questions, but no definitive answer.

So, in simple terms, does MC support HDR output via an Intel Iris XE? If so, how do I configure it? If not, are there any plans to fix the problem.

Thanks
I have a 12th Gen Intel w/ Iris or whatever built in. HDR works just fine on this machine, along with all the scaling juice I could ever need.

I set Use the display... Automatically switch... Enable HDR to HDR... Use HDR 10+ tone map... and the defaults for anything with numbers.

Just verified that my Lawrence of Arabia UHD BD rip does flip the HDR switch it looks as expected w/ HDR on.

Since your Dell has a 4060, make sure you check the Hardware accelerate video decoding when possible in the main selection menus. Guessing you did but if you didn't, it could cause an issue.

Next up, go through the Taming Windows Defender thread here to ensure Defender isn't getting in your way. I usually hate recommending this as it feels stupid to have to do, but it can help.

The other issue I have with JRVR is what you are asking help on. There is no clear documentation for lay people to understand the performance impact of each setting. You can tweak and play and use thoughts and prayers to solve it and that's about the only option available.

One thing you don't mention is the resolution of the built in screen. If it is lower than 4K and you are watching on the native screen, Scaling options will be used to downscale which MIGHT cause some of your issue. Mess with those settings and see what happens.

Though honestly, I have a 12th gen Intel CPU w/ built in Iris or whatever they call it and I can use pretty much all the scaling features with no issue.

As MGD_King said, it can be done.

Just be aware that depending on the size of the collection, this can take a REALLY long time, so plan accordingly (run overnight maybe).

I use bitstreaming on advanced formats such as ATMOS so I get height channels and otherwise I let MC do its thing.

The tag may not exist in MC.  You can add custom tags.  The name must match exactly.

I have imported a number of flac tracks containing the tag ALBUMSORT. The tracks were tagged using MP3Tag.
When I look up the tags of the imported tracks, the ALBUMSORT tag does not appear.
Has it something to do with Vorbis tag fields being limited to just a few fields?

Short of re-tagging the files in MC, is there any workaround?
Many thanks

You'll notice in the screenshots that the frame (especially the top part of the window) is semi-transparent with a Acrylic/Mica type of effect that better fits Windows 11. I've actually done some more small improvements since releasing those. I guess I should get around to doing that at some point.

Just installed the ModernCards Acrylic Dark. Tree+Tabs seem to float, very nice. Clear systematic layout with a touch of some colors.

Something that Matt added so when MC is windowed, it'll have rounded corners. If it's maximized it has straight/full corners so a maximized MC won't have rounded corners. This is part of the main.xml...

Ahh, there is an extra Entry: TopBorderMaximized and BottomBorderMaximized. And there is a difference between Maximized vs Windowed? I shall try again with the new Entries. Thanks for the Code!
Maybe there is an issue with resizing below Skin-size 100%. The Left- and RightBorder resize. The Top-and BottomBorder do not resize the same amount. And I designed the border inside ALL Mainframe-borders...

For what it's worth, virtually all my views use centre alignment for numbers these days, but I'm also not overly bothered by how things stand as they are easy to change.  Also wouldn't be upset if they changed to centre by default.
