Title: Client PC help with MCC Scheduler
Post by: tzr916 on May 21, 2021, 05:33:12 pm
My Client PC's don't bother to make thumbnails for newly recorded tv shows until I actually access the show/series on that Client,  which slows things down.
Is there a way to build thumbnails automatically (or schedule) on the Clients? I would like to trigger thumbnail build on clients @4AM every day, but cannot find MCC for building thumbnails (only rebuild all thumbnails).

Found that Standard View will trigger thumbnail creation when set to Video>Files tree... So trying to use MC Scheduler to simply drop to Standard View, then 3 minutes later, back to Theater View. But not having any luck getting it to work at all with these in the Scheduler:

Theater View
Command Line
MC27
/MCC 22000, 5

Standard View
Command Line
MC27
/MCC 22000, 0

Tried these, with all different variations. They run/finish but MC does not change to Theater View.

There's no one that can test MCC 22000 usage? Either it's  broken or I just don't understand how to use it. I've tried two different  PC's, it's just not working...

"MCC 22000,3" works for me to switch to Theater View. It seems the values on the documentation are outdated. Mode 0 or 5 returns to the standard view. Command 22009 seems to do exactly the same thing as 22000.

I'm not sure there's any command to change the current tree view to Video->Files.

There's "showtreepath"...

MC27.exe /showtreepath Video\Files (This works for me using the Windows "Run" dialogue)
(wiki command line page (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/The_Command_Line))

and then, for dropping back into Theater view...

mc27.exe /MCC 22001,0 has always worked for me, dropping me into Theater view, set at the "Home" screen.
(wiki MCC page (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Center_Core_Commands))

Maybe those will help?
