Title: Upgrade to MC 25 lost my playlists
Post by: jpmichaels on December 08, 2019, 02:58:18 am
I remember this happened the last time I upgraded.
1) How do I recover all my playlists from MC24?
2) How about creating an upgrade process that preserves playlists through an upgrade?

It's easy: do a library backup in MC24, restore that library backup in MC25.

Yes, the backup and restore work well.  I've used this method many many times.

However, the Windows version finds older libraries upon upgrade and uses them.  It would be nice if the Mac version did this too.  Especially considering that many Mac users are less technical than many Windows users.  ...and backup and restore is kind of a "technical thing" that requires understanding and procedure.  If it were automatic, like on Windows, it would definitely be a lot more suited to the audience.
