Title: JRemote / Squeezebox problem
Post by: Daverich4 on January 06, 2016, 05:49:41 pm
I’ve been using JRiver 21 on my Mac for a couple of weeks now with no problems. It works directly with my headphone amp plugged into my computer as well as with my Squeezebox Touch and Transporter. I recently decided to give JRemote a try and installed it on an iPad Air. I can play my music directly to the iPad but there is a problem when trying to play it via the Touch (and Transporter). When I start a song the progress bar goes up to 5 seconds without any sound and then resets itself to zero and counts up to 5 seconds. It then resets itself again. It does this 8 or 9 times and then the music starts playing about 45 seconds in. It plays the song all the way to the end and then before starting the next song it does the repeat thing again. Besides not having any problems playing to the Touch if I’m using JRiver on my Mac to control it, for a couple hours last night JRemote also played the music without the silent repeats. This morning it was back to having problems again. I’m just using the generic DLNA server but I’ve tried all the other choices as well and it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Can someone help me solve this? Thanks.

You could try my Whitebear Media Server plugin for Squeezebox server (see my sig).

Thanks for the suggestion but the link you provided says it's for Windows and I use a Mac.

Hello, were you ever able to diagnose? I have the same problem with a Windows based system playing into a PS Audio perfect wave DAC. Worked fine for a month and then poof problems.
However I have not waited long enough to see if the music eventually plays through I will try . The DAC shows the correct music on the screen so it is communicating with the PC.
