You can recover your license.

You can e-mail yourself all your licenses from option 2 on the Restore Page.  No MJ7 licenses are available.  IThey used a different system.

Jim,
I have my MJ8 license and have restored it, but still cannot download the mp3 encoder. Assistance, please.
Thank you for your help. I'm working on setting up a dual boot with a Linux distro on a new HP computer running Windows 8.1 and am have a bear of a time doing so. So hopefully, in the near future, I can download and use the MC 19 for Linux. (My distro will be Linux Mint Debian Edition).
Thanks for any help in getting the mp3 encoder for MJ8.

I'm sorry, but it's been so long I don't remember.  Isn't the encoder built in to MJ8?

Could you use APE or another encoder?

No experience with MJ8 but does the architecture work similarly to MC where the user has the option of configuring an external encoder?
Look here for an idea of where I'm coming from (top of the list):
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Encoding_Settings#Encoder_2 (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Encoding_Settings#Encoder_2)

If so, then you could potentially grab http://lame.sourceforge.net/ (http://lame.sourceforge.net/) and go have yourself an MP3 party.

[EDIT: from the LAME site, here's a link to a compiled source of LAME:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php (http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php)

Leave you to explore other options as may suit your needs.]

Help, please:
When I try to download the MP3 encoder for LICENSED Media Jukebox 8.400 onto my new HP computer running Windows 5.1,  I get this page and please scroll down for the weirder stuff::

[Package]
Name=MP3 Encoder
Action=UNZIPDIR
Version=2.0.51
URL=http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/mj_data/plugins/enc_mp3.zip

[Action]
File1=*.*
File1Action1=COPY_PLUGINDIR
File2=enc_mp3.dll
File2Action1=REGISTER

When I try to download the MP3 VBR encoder I get (the same thing)

[Package]
Name=MP3 Encoder
Action=UNZIPDIR
Version=2.0.51
URL=http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/mj_data/plugins/enc_mp3.zip

[Action]
File1=*.*
File1Action1=COPY_PLUGINDIR
File2=enc_mp3.dll
File2Action1=REGISTER

Now the weird stuff.

When I download MJ8.400 to my Linux Mint Debian Edition partition, it downloads the MP3 encoder.
Any assistance in downloading a working MP3 encoder for my MJ8 on Windows 8.1 would be appreciated.
Thanks,
