Title: JRiver for Android TV doesn't work
Post by: StigKnudsen on February 14, 2020, 03:35:45 am
I bought the JRiver for Android TV one week ago. I allready have the version for Windows so I know the program.
I use a Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) with a one Tbyte SSD drive and I have 500Gbyte music one the SSD.
I thought I would get a Media Center as good as the Windows version but the one I bought simply doesn't work!
It only imported 20% of the music and the interface is boring, no artist graphic or other nice pictures like the Windows version.
I wrote the the email JRiver had put on the Google Play site and asked to get a refund, but no answer.

Unfortunately I don't think JRiver has any control over that, since the Play Store is controlled by Google and their Play Store policies. I think the refund window in Play Store purchases, if I recall correctly, is 48 hours.

Also if you're expecting JRiver for Android to look and function like the Windows version of JRiver Media Center, you're going to be disappointed. JRiver for Android is still in its early days, but it's been gaining new features slowly but surely and it's just now getting to the point where it's beginning to play back media, especially videos, on Android TV devices including the Nvidia Shield TV.

Here's the description from the Play Store:

"JRiver on Android is the media engine of JRiver Media Center with a simplified user interface. It can act as an audio player for content stored on the device. It also supports most of the network functionality of JRiver Media Center. It can work as a DLNA or UPnP Server or Renderer."

Your import problem can probably be solved if you'll provide some details.

Cover art is temporarily missing.  It will return soon.

Google write, if it's more than 2 hours I have to write to JRiver for a refund!
