Title: jremote2
Post by: grahamk on April 03, 2020, 09:29:05 am

Let me just say, I miss EOS. badly.

But I guess we are moving on - so yesterday I realized that we have a new jremote in the play store called jremote2. So I bought it (I had already purchased jremote but that no longer seems to be available)?

Then after using it for a bit i realized that I just spent $10 on yet another app that basically does exactly the same thing as the previous revision that I had already paid for  - but maybe not as well?

Is there any explanation for this that makes sense other than "money grab"?

That's exactly right.  We've spent most of the last six months re-writing JRemote.  JRemote2 is the new version.  More features are coming, but it's already much more stable.

Oddly, it takes a lot of money to write this stuff.

JRemote2 is a complete rewrite that's actively being developed by Hendrik, take a look at this first post explaining the features currently in JRemote2 and the features coming to it: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,123223.0.html

For example, gapless playback when using the native audio format works in JRemote2.
