Title: Virtual Tracks with CUE Files
Post by: Rands on May 20, 2003, 11:34:29 am
I have some MP3 files that are full albums that have a CUE file for burning.  I know there's a plug-in for Winamp that will read a CUE file and create virtual tracks based off of it so you can listen to the MP3 as if it were separate tracks.

I'd like to see about doing the same thing for MC.  Is this even possible and, if so, where should I start?  Which SDK, etc?

Cerebus,

Is CUE file a binary image of CD? If so, you can use input plug-in SDK to create plug-in for MC. If CUE file just a text file with references to media files then you are out luck because MC does not have playlists plug-in SDK.

A CUE file is a text file referencing another file with hh:mm:ss index points, as well as track name text, etc.

Is there a chance of this sort of SDK becoming available?  It's not uncommon for albums to be burned this way, especially live performances and sets, to avoid the drop-frame issue with the MP3 protocol.

Not for the current version. Maybe for MC 9.1 or 10.0
