Title: Does MC's Replay Gain work on iPhone via SoundCheck?
Post by: raym on March 04, 2009, 08:13:51 pm
I apologise in advance if this has been discussed before. I see many similar threads on the topic but I'm still confused.

Basically I'm trying to understand the following: If I have analysed all my music in MC and then copy the tracks to my iPhone and enable Apple's SoundCheck feature, will the tracks play at the same volume?

I don't think it's working but from what I've read, the tags updated by Replay Gain should have some effect with SoundCheck on the iPhone/iPod... is this right?

Thanks.

I believe that is correct.  I thought I tested that sometime ago but maybe someone can verify.  I use mp3gain to normalize all music so that the Ipod works whether or not soundcheck is on or not.  However, I then use MC13 to decrease the level of all songs (for what is no longer a good reason) by 7db
