The spotify api is now available for windows.
See here:

I would love to see a plugin for mc to use spotify from within mc. Is there any interest among plugin developers to make this work?

Hi All,
Has anybody got Spotify working within MC?
Cheers
Mark

I'd be interested in this too, for my daughter's zone.
-
I guess the deafening silence means that it's not happening... ;)

I discoverd the power of Spotify this week.
If this could be integrated with MC ....... 1+1=3
;D

I have the feeling that Spotify is only available in some European countries, including the Netherlands.
Once it is going to spread over the world, I am sure JRiver will pick it up!!
It is a matter of time.

Good afternoon, sunny Wales calling! I am a Spotify fan here in the UK and I run Spotify quite easily by setting up a link to the spotify launch executable from the theatre view page which was quite straight forward. Not quite the same as running it natively from within MC15 but still perfectly usable. MC is set to minimise while Spotify is running then restore after exit. I have Napster set up the same way though Napster no longer requires an application to access it so the link from within MC is set to the Napster login page on their site. I am not the most techy person but it was very straight forward to set up. Sadly I have a problem with Napster which seems to be a playlist incompatibility. However I much prefer Spotify since the audio quility is so much better.................320k versus 120K, no competition on my system!

Have you tried the Performer Store in MC?
Integration with Spotify would not be simple.
-
No I have not tried the performer store, is that accessible fom the UK?
-
It requires a U.S. address.

Shame :)

I want to avoid solutions with Virtual Audio Cable and Console to run Convolver plugin for room correction. It would be brilliant to run Spotify through the JRiver audio engine to be able to process via the DSP plugins. Starting spotify.exe as an external program from Theater View was - as you state - straight forward. But which audio renderer is used? Will the audio run through JRiver DSP plugins? I did a quick test, and it seems quite obvious to me that the audio goes unprocessed.
Anyone with news on any Spotify plugin or other workaround?

I don't know how realistic it is, but a spotify-plugin would be very nice.

Another vote for a Spotify plugin ;D

looks like spotify tags music as well via gracenote?
how is gracenote comparable to music brainz?
Personally i think a good auto music tagger (finger printing, audio recognition, large clean database etc.. ) combined into jriver would be steller!
