As above. Installed ver 55 & 57 with the same results. Also version 18 which has worked great now starts up with a n=message that says changes will not be saved.
I am running a Macbook Pro with 10.6.8 operating system.
Help (grin)!

Have you sent logs?
Help > Logging > Report Problem
Don't forget to clear log after you save it to your desktop.
Then email them to logs (at) jriver (dot) com

Didn't realize that the log function was available - will try it.
Any idea on what happened to set 18 to be unable to save settings?

I don't understand what "set 18" is. Can you be more specific?

I sent the log in on MC 19.
I am sorry I was unclear on MC 18. Since I installed MC 19 I get the following message on start-up in MC 18.
This database will be opened in read-only mode. Any changes will be lost when the program exists.

That's going to be something that JRiver will need to help you with. I just don't know. There are two things that I suggest. First is a backup. Go to File > Backup > Backup Library.
This way you will have a backup of your library (JRiver NOT files) which can be used whether MC18 or MC19. Last, I wouldn't really try to use MC18 if you have paid for MC19. MC19 once you get it working is far superior than MC18.
