Title: Automated conversion and copying to iPhone?
Post by: Ripper on February 20, 2019, 10:21:02 am
Is it possible to use MC to automate the converting of music and copying to an iPhone? I would like MC to (1) convert DSD to 16-bit, 44.4-KHz ALAC and use a low-pass filter, (2) convert FLAC that is above 16 bit, 44 KHz, to 16 bit, 44.4 KHz ALAC, and (3) copy the results to an iPhone.  I don't want the ALACs stored on my computer.  I would like the ALACs to go directly to my iPhone.  I prefer to run MC on a Mac but can also run it in Windows using emulation software.  Thanks for any help.

No.  It's not possible.

No.  It's not possible.

Is it possible over a number of steps, even if I have to provide some input? Thanks.

Experiment.

You can use the Handheld Sync functionality to sync to a local hard disk location, ready to be transferred to your iPhone.
You can turn off the audio conversion cache so that extra copies of the ALAC files aren't stored on your computer.
The ALAC encoder isn't configurable, so you get what you get. I have no idea if MC will convert DSD to ALAC. Experiment.
MC won't transfer the resulting files to your iPhone. Use iTunes or something else to do that. Also, search the forum for discussions on the concept. There have been some good discussions.
