Needed for  a long time.  NAS are becoming the new home appliance.

+1.
If such would be worth putting the energy in,
Would JRiver be open to a poll on this topic ?

As my DS3615xs is already on 24/24 it would also make sense to have it host MC Server at the same time.

I might be in for a donation.

NAS are becoming the new home appliance.
A NAS is just another computer.

We're already running on Windows, OSX, and Linux.  If I have to choose another platform, it won't be a NAS.  Android would make more sense.

Synology DS410 runs on Linux, it just needs to be built for the architecture I think?

As I'm understanding it, MC is a client that sits on a computer which presents the media directly.  Something that sits on a NAS, like Plex, streams the media to other devices.  If this understanding is correct, the OP's request to implement MC on a Synology NAS could be a big deal.

MC can be both a client and a server.  Please see the Media Network topic on our wiki.

But yes, it would be a big deal to implement MC on a Synology NAS.  It's not something we will probably do.
