Title: Output to xmc-1 hdmi through Ethernet
Post by: Acousticmood on January 05, 2019, 08:12:58 pm
Hello, I searched but couldn’t find an answer. New user - trying to send multi channel Flac or dsd to my xmc-1. Couldn’t find out how to choose it as an output device from tools/options.

Thankyou,

George

Welcome to the forum.  The wiki has topics on Audio Setup, Surround Sound, and DSD.

Yeah I read it but it doesn’t help me understand why I can’t get sound to my xmc-1

Did you select it in the options for Audio?

MC's Options > Audio > Audio Device

There's a drop down menu there, is the XMC-1 listed in that drop down menu?

Having a quick read of the XMC-1 manual it does not appear to support audio over its ethernet connection, it is only for "Dirac and remote control applications".
I suggest you connect it via USB or HDMI.
