Title: Lampizator Euforia/Mytek 192/DSD /MC21
Post by: jimdukey on April 20, 2016, 11:02:17 am
Hi, MC21 does everything I want with the Lampizator, up to DSD 128.
But with the Mytek, DSD 64 is the highest rate that will play.
No DSD 128, even though it’s available and other players such as AV+ and HQ will
do DSD 128 with the Mytek, no problem.
What is it about the Mytek that’s not compatible with DSD 128 ( either bitstreaming or up sampled )
on MC 21?
I’m very happy with the sound of Lampi/MC21.
I wish the Mytek would get DSD 128 with MC 21!

I don't know the dac ... but should work no problem with SPDIF or Toslink ... if you are using USB they are having a driver issue .. this is from their website

* OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) issue: Our tests show that USB2 driver is not compatible with the new Apple system. Updating to El Capitan is not recommended. We are working to fix it as soon as possible. In the meantime please use FW / Thunderbolt driver.

You might try to set DSD to DoP format under output encoding in DSP studio? Not sure just thinking of things to try. Shouldn't need to upsample though. But as I said I don't know the DAC myself.

Have you tried the possible solution from this topic? (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=101076.0)

Open Audio MIDI Setup (found by clicking Application > Utilities) then set the Mytek DAC to "2ch-32bit Integer" then try upsampling to DSD 128 and see if it helps.

I use Thunderbolt/Firewire for the Mytek.
It Never worked on USB 2 for DSD.
I’m on Yosemite.
I will check on that setting, thanks.

It only lists 4 Channel, 24 bit, no 32 bit option.
I’ll just use the Lampi with MC 21,
that is fine, and I like the Sound.
