Recently when I double click on a song it jitters. I'm using a brand new iMac 27-1/2" monitor. The specs are fine. I don't have a million programs open, either.
Everything is set to hardware default as usual. Can someone please let me know how to fix this?

What are you trying to play? File type?

I don't know what "it jitters" means. But if you're experiencing some kind of playback interruption, you should restart MC. Perhaps even restart the Mac just for good measure.
Brian.

I will restart the Mac just for good measure and see what happens when I get back home tonight. I've restarted MC, no luck. File type doesn't really matter in this case because it worked fine before that. But if you really wanted to know, they were WAV and FLAC files.. :-\
By "jittering", I meant to say a hiccup in the audio during playback.

Try to go to:
Tools menu
Options
Audio on the left...
audio device
device settings...
and try to increase buffering a little bit more than recommend... software first...

Other than the iMac, what's your setup? Are you using onboard audio? A USB DAC? Something like that?

Looks like restarting the iMac did the trick. I'm using high end audio equipment. The iMac is connected to a new McIntosh D100 using Audioquest A to B USB cable.
