I've done a couple of searches of the forum, including left-click, pause and resume playback, and others, but I don't find the answer to what I'm asking.
Until I installed MC, I have used Pot Player for a long time. I'm used to being able to click the left mouse button anywhere on the screen to have playback paused, then resumed.
Is this possible to configure for MC?
TIA

Anyone?? Even remote ideas how I can do this??

You might be able to use the mouse software to emulate the space bar.
But why not use the mouse to click on the pause button?
Or explore Theater View to use those controls. There you can use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys, and the enter key, to do everything.

Mouse software rarely lets you remap the left and right buttons.
Most media players play/pause when you click on the image. It's quite convenient, and I wouldn't mind having that option in Media Center.

That's a thought. I'll explore that option, as it seems like it's the closest I'm going to get to what I want. Yes, I could continue to just use the mouse, and go ALLLLLLL the way up top and find that pause button, but being able to just left-click anywhere on the screen is much faster...
Thanks!

Absolutely! Perhaps it will be a future feature? Try saying that 5 times fast...

After trying Theater View, I have come to the conclusion that it's even more convoluted than Standard View. For me, at least. So, I'll stick with Standard for the time being.

Please add this feature to JRiver so that the left mouse click starts and pauses the playback.
PotPlayer is an example of a media player that works this way.
@JimH.. in response to your message above "why not click on the pause button"..
Clicking on the play and pause button with the mouse is not so easy when you are 3 metres away from the screen, it would be much easier to be able to click anywhere on the video to resume or pause playback.

Remapping the left mouse button would end in tears.
But you can certainly download X-Mouse Button Control and do some remapping, and send the play/pause command with whatever button you like.

It is very simple to achieve the desired functionality using XMBC. (I've used it for example to make the mouse work appropriately with Irfanview, the author of which is notoriously obstinate about letting users customize mouse behavior.)
I suggest you pick a different button.
Have fun...

I'll just use a wireless keyboard and the spacebar instead. I don't want to remap the left click on the mouse, I just want to pause and resume playback when clicking on the video in full screen (without having to click on the pause button)
