Is it at all possible to have a client which would be relatively feature complete which could also be compatible to Android Auto.
I know of the MO 4Media app, but it really doesn't work well. I can never reliably connect to my servers, nor can I get it to reliably play. I use PlexAmp instead, but its interface is not as simple and/or convenient as JRiver.
