Probably a silly request. But I do not have a cable tuner for my TV card so I have no idea what the lineup is as it is totally different than digital cable.
Would also be extra cool to see xmltv hooked into MC :-)

To change channel name, go to "TV Channels" property page, and click "Analog Chan" or "Digital Chan" button. In the resulting dialog window, click a "Station Name" entry to edit the name.

Thanks for your reply. I think the issue for me was that the screen was modal, so I could not change the name by for instance clicking F2 on the channel while watching it. That way I could change the channel name while watching and thus being able to view the channel call sign in the corner.

I think I understand what you said now.
If you edit the name as I told you in my previous post, the channel you are trying to edit is actually tuned to (if not, click the channel number first). So by moving the dialog window so that it will not block the info you want to see on screen, you can achieve what you want to do. All you have to do is to make sure you start viewing a channel before going to the Configuration dialog.

But if the good folks at J River did one of the following:
1) F2 from channel menu allows a rename
2) Options menu was not modal so you could change stations and rename them.
3) Options menu, changing stations changed them on the TV
While I have changed a few via the method you mentioned, I have over 100.... That would take forever!!!
Thanks!

I now see the best way at the moment is through the registry here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\Properties\TV Channels
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\TV Settings\TV Channels
I suppose that works for the moment, but F2 would be wonderful!

These are for Media Center 10. For MC 11, the location is different.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 11\TV Settings\TV Channels
Looks like you are using MC10. No wonder we are not talking on the same channel.

I am using MC11. I found and changed the stations. Works well :-)
As I mentioned, the other issue is the ordering. Any chance that could be changed to order by number not name as an option perhaps?
Thanks!

I have the same issues here: Renaming and Ordering of TV Channels should be a must-have. However, I will try the workaroud mentioned above. ::)

To rename station names in MC 11:
1. Options, TV Channels.
2. Click "Analog Chan" or "Digital Chan".
3. In the resulting dialog window, click the station name in the list to edit the names.
-
To sort TV channels:
1. Options, TV Channels tab.
2. Click "Channel" header in the list control to sort by channel #; click "Station Name" header to sort by station name.
