Title: JRiver remote access from another windows/Mac computer
Post by: Tsiobbel on June 18, 2021, 12:16:45 pm
I'm sorry if this question has been answered before.
Two people have remote access to my music library. Port forwarding, etc. Everything works fine... But 'too fine', because I would like to remove one person from accessing my library (and my music). I've checked the access key...but the remote person does not see the access key (unticked box in Media network - use media network to share this library and enable DLNA). I have disabled the port forwarding but this is unfair to the person who I would like to give access to.
Lesson from all this : think twice before giving somebody access to your library ! I know when this person (who I would like to remove from accessing) is on my server, as it slows down the hi-res music I want to play.
What can I do ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Change the Access Key.  Turn Media Network off and back on.

Change the Access Key.  Turn Media Network off and back on.
Won't the old key still work as long as the public IP doesn't change?

You can ask person 1 to stop because it's affecting your viewing quality.
You can set an Authentication password for you and a different Read-Only Authentication password to share with person 2. Changing the password should also cut remote access.

Alternatively, you can change the port from 52199 to something else, and share the new port with person 2.

I don't think so.
