Title: MadVR 4k - GPU?
Post by: lisbethfox on November 29, 2014, 07:28:20 am
So I have a GTX 970 (no overclocks or anything) and next month or so I might be getting a 4K TV. How the heck am I gonna upscale for this in MadVR?
I currently do NNEDI3 for chroma at 64 neurons and image doubling / chroma doubling at 32, this is going out to a 1080p device. What I'm asking is when I change to a 4k monitor, will this card have enough steam to do the same settings? I already can't really do 128 for it (assuming I change all the options over to 128 neurons) so how will it fare at 4k?

I know I kind of just need to try it but the truth is, if I can't, theres no reason for me to prematurely purchase a 4k presentation device before sorting out my GPU. I'm still considering purchasing a 980 so I mean, maybe that would be good enough?

madVR questions might better be asked (and answered) on the doom9 forum.
