Title: MC20 / itunes
Post by: Joe Paris on January 02, 2015, 03:05:24 am
Hello,

I cannot "any" music when I open iTunes.  I have ripped all my cd's with JRiver into my "Music" folder.  I wanted to sync an iPod using iTunes, but no music can be seen when I open iTunes.  I also tried the export to iTunes / iPhone but nothing happens.

Any idea please on how to do that?

Thanks

Joe

Any music you have in your "Music" folder should be playable in iTunes if they are in a format supported by iTunes.  Some formats like FLAC and APE are not supported by iTunes.

Thank you John, any easy way to convert to MP3 what I want to sync with iTunes.  MC doesn't recognize my iPod to send flacs.

Thanks

You can set a location as a Handheld.  Conversion is then an option.

Create a folder under /Music for iPod conversions (/Music/iPod for example)

Go to Tools / Options / Handheld / Add device...

Set "Device name:" to something like "iPod Transfer"

Set "Device path:" to /Music/iPod Transfer

Set Conversion / Audio / Mode to "Specified output"

Set Conversion / Audio / Encoder to MP3

From now on, whenever you want to convert your library files for transfer to the iPod, just select "Sync Handheld" in lower left Media Center action window.  Select your newly created device. Then drag the desired tracks to the "drop here" symbol and click "Transfer".  The files will be converted and sent to your folder.  Then you can use iTunes to transfer to the iPod.
