Title: Reinstall fails under debian - libpangox-1.0-0
Post by: debianite on May 15, 2022, 03:41:56 am
Hi folks!

After purchasing a new PC my MC28.0.103 version fails to install under debian-sid (Had MC28 running before, without any problems).

The packet-manager always says, that libpangox-1.0-0 is not installed  ?. I tried to install this file directly, which failed because of dependencies.

Does anyone please can help?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Peter

That library was removed in Debian Sid and Ubuntu 22.04. The dependency for libpangox-1.0-0 was also removed in Media Center 29 so it isn't an issue there any longer, but for Media Center 28 (as there's likely not going to be any new builds of) the only workaround is you'd have to find libpangox-1.0-0 and manually install it. Getting it from here (https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/libpangox-1.0-0) might help, not sure.

Thank you so much for your kind reply  :) - I will give the MC29 a try as I wasn't able to install the libpangox file - to many dependencies...

I'm not sure you actually need it with the packaging changes in Debian itself, so you might get away with just forcing it to ignore the dependency.
