This is the latest build of JRiver Media Center 32.  Please post bugs here.  Please start a new thread for anything requiring discussion.  Non-bug posts will be deleted.

Download 64-bit build
https://files.jriver-cdn.com/mediacenter/channels/v32/latest/MediaCenter320047-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)

Download 32-bit build
https://files.jriver-cdn.com/mediacenter/channels/v32/latest/MediaCenter320047.exe (works on all systems)

32.0.47 (5/16/2024)

1. NEW: Added a tree & view option to set the alignment of number columns.

32.0.46 (5/14/2024)

1. NEW: Reverse GeoCoding - populating image location data (country, state, city and sublocation) using GPS coordinates of images.
2. Changed: Slovak translation updated (thanks Peter Lukáč).
3. Changed: Updated libplacebo in JRVR to the latest version.
4. Changed: Added an error message pop-up when there is server error in Reverse GeoCoding.
5. Fixed: When searching on playlists accents were not handled properly.
6. Fixed: State/Province data might not be loaded properly when doing Reverse GeoCoding, for some locations.
7. Changed: During Reverse GeoCoding, if the GPS coordinates match (or are close enough) to an already processed image, we use the known data, instead of hitting the server again.
8. Changed: "Places" field will contain "Sublocation", in addition to "Country", "State/Province", and "City", when either doing Reverse GeoCoding, or loading from image tags.

32.0.45 (5/8/2024)

1. Changed: Updated the Catalan language (thanks Josep).
2. Fixed: Changing users could incorrectly issue stops to the server zones.

32.0.44 (5/2/2024)

1. Changed: Simplified Slow Motion OSD menu text.
2. NEW: The "Slow Motion Playback" right-click/context menu is enabled for videos played in (non-DirectShow) JRiver Video Engine.
3. Fixed: For videos played in (non-DirectShow) "JRiver Video Engine", slow-motion playback would not work when transitioning from normal rate to slow rate, if VideoClock setting was on.
4. NEW: Add custom file info templates file selection in Theater View Options. Can select any file placed in {Library Directory}\Templates.  Pre-MC32 templates file is automatically copied there for selection.

32.0.43 (4/30/2024)

1. Fixed: VideoClock setting might not be turned back on after it was temporarily turned off due to slow-motion playback, if the user stopped playback while it was in slow-motion.
2. Fixed: Improved rendering of Unicode characters outside of the Basic Multilingual Plane.
3. Fixed: Playing video in slow-motion with mute might not work especially if VideoClock setting was initially on.
4. Fixed: Playing a new video while a video is in muted slow-motion playback might leave the new video muted too.
5. Changed: Video Slow-motion context menu will include muted slow-motion items.
6. Fixed: The Slow-motion OSD might be out of sync with the actual playback speed if the speed was set via context menu.

32.0.42 (4/27/2024)

1. Fixed: Subtitles with JRVR will be stretched properly when using anamorphic rendering.
2. Fixed: Possible crashes starting playback in build 41.

32.0.41 (4/24/2024)

1. Fixed: Theater View file info templates were not handling , as a decimal separator for FPS. (v2.9 of templates file)
2. Fixed: If the VideoClock setting is on, changing from normal playback speed to slow motion speeds might not work initially.
3. Fixed: If playback of a video is stopped or a new file is started while doing slow-motion playback, playback of the next file would be marked as slow-motion, even though the actual playback speed is normal.
4. Changed: Added a note on the direction of the subtitle shift to the video settings dialog.
5. Changed: MCC commands to set the global JRVR profile can be called outside of playback (Output profiles will always refer to the primary display in this case).
6. Fixed: Maximizing some windows like Options could be a problem in the last builds on some displays.

32.0.40 (4/23/2024)

1. Changed: Cancelling the dialog to choose Blu-ray Menu or Title playback will stop playback, rather then choose a default option.
2. Changed: Some MCWS calls default to false for switching into no UI mode (File/GetInfo, Files/Search, Files/GetInfo, etc.).
3. Fixed: Slow motion OSD menu was accidentally enabled for non-video playback types (image, audio, etc.).
4. Fixed: Slow motion via OSD did not try to avoid conflict with VideoClock setting.
5. NEW: Add FPS icons to Theater View file info templates.  Video definition now uses ranges instead of exact heights. (v2.8 of templates file)

I don't think it can ever work, even with the adapter. When Windows puts the display to sleep due to inactivity, the GPU will power down the HDMI link completely which also kills the audio transport. The only way is to disable sleep to keep the link alive, either by using the blank screensaver or with MC's "Disable display from turning off" (which sounds like it isn't working for your hardware).

I believe this was an oversight of the HDMI spec, they didn't anticipate the need for this half-sleep scenario.

The main purpose of the EDID emulator is to tell the GPU that a monitor is indeed connected (even if it's not). This doesn't prevent Windows from shutting down the GPU output for inactivity.

Nevermind, I've misread diagonally. I read "EDID Adapter" and thought about the fake monitor dongles that are used to keep a server/graphics card from sleeping. I thought you had one of those on one of the DP/HDMI outputs, with the AVR/TV connected to a another GPU output.

I'm still using the hardware chain of RTX 3070 HDMI output > Lindy EDID Emulator> HDMI cable > Denon X8500H AV amp, while the GPU DisplayPort outputs are directly connected to a pair of monitors.

The Lindy EDID Emulator is still failing to prevent the music stopping when the monitors go to sleep, so I'm now using your blank screen saver solution. I've delayed returning this dongle, as Lindy UK tech support are making another attempt to find out why it doesn't work for me.

Hello guys,
Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust brightness / contrast / Hue in JRVR with a Media Center Command or Web Service ?

4:4:4 8bit ... is better than 4:2:2 12bit

4:2:2 delivers chroma channel (color channel) at 75% resolution ... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_subsampling

Your 60hz source is max 8bit ... so you are not really losing anything

Pretty sure processing of video is done at high bit depth + dithering  ... before being output at lower bit depth ... just like audio ... so you are better off at 4:4:4 8bit than 4:2:2 12bit

EDIT: if 10 12 bit important to you ... get HDMI 2.1 compatible GPU and TV/Projector ... then you can do 4:4:4 at 10 and 12 bit ... even at 120fps

If you purchased the MC32 license, you probably still need to install MC32, then restore the new license.

Here are the instructions from the first post:

The setting in Media Center's Video settings called "Optimize hardware decoding for performance" toggles DXVA2 Copy-Back decoding with madVR. If thats disabled, it'll use DXVA2 Copy-Back, which should give you the desired results within the limitations of madVR.

@Hendrik

Is there a way to configure the internal LAV filters?  Unfortuantely, I believe I have to change one more setting (selecting Hardware Device) in LAV Video Decoder in order to get it to work on a new system.  Without installing external LAV filters, it doesn't appear I can explicitly specify the hardware device to use.  I would be grateful for any advice.

My process is to put all new albums in a folder named "import". Have Media Center import that folder so I can tag them.

I edit the tags so all of the names and my custom fields are filled in properly. Add cover art. Etc.

Then I run the files through the big Rename, Move, & Copy Files dialog to move the files to my NAS.

I have custom directory naming rules and file naming rules that create the directory structure I like on the NAS. So all the albums and artists are organized in a way I like. The Expression Language allows me to create some custom rules that do what I want. And I take advantage of that. It's the Expression Language that gives this process the power and customization.
