Title: Menu item for "Get TV and Movie Info"
Post by: Chris Shaw on April 07, 2018, 07:04:37 pm
I may be being blind, but I can right click on a video file and get "Get TV and Movie Info", but I can't find it on the menu bar anywhere. It makes it a real pain when I remote into my PC from my Mac. Is it there somewhere, and if not, can this be a feature request?

Not being able to right-click in Standard View would make a whole lot of things difficult to do. I would be trying to fix that first. There must be a way to do it; Command-click, Ctrl-Command-click, long click, or something. I guess it depends on the software you are using to remote into your PC. But there is this: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT207700

Otherwise, you could set up a custom keyboard shortcut: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts

It can be done using 2 finger tapping on the Mac, but I find that really annoying in normal Mac apps, so I have to enable it just to use MC. The custom shortcut idea is good - I'll try that, thanks

As far as I can tell, everything else on the right click menu is replicated in the menu bar so this seems an odd omission. If I remember my Windows UI guidelines, nothing should only available on a context menu, since this also causes problems with touch interfaces or those using accessibility devices like eye trackers.

On a touch screen you can get the right click menu with a long press.
