The last file that MC saw, right before it crashed, was this one:

/Users/HW/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/Downloads/Music/Hummel_ Bassoon Concerto Clarinet Quartet/Tk06 Johann Nepomuk Hummel Clarinet Quartet in E flat major WoO 5 S78 I Allegro moderato.m4a

I believe it was trying to do "analyze audio" on that file.  It's fairly common for MC to crash if it finds a corrupted audio file and tries to analyze it.

You could try moving that file to another directory, where MC can not see it, and see what happens.

But I also notice that folder has a funny name "Mobile Data" and has unusual path names which imply that maybe it's not exactly a local file.  Like maybe it's a replica of a file "in the cloud" or something.  If it just wasn't fully available or something, that might have done it.

Generally speaking, I think it's a bad idea to import files into MC that are "in the cloud".  There's no rule against it or anything.  This is just my personal opinion.

Good luck.

Brian.

Thanks Brian,
I had downloaded this file (and others from a complete album I bought) to my iCloud Drive and then imported from there. I was editing the track when it happened. Most likely reason, as you said, was that the connection to the iCloud Drive was offline for a bit and the file was unavailable. I have since moved the file to my NAS where all my files normally reside and no more problem.
Appreciate your help!
