Title: Where is stored TAG information for movies?
Post by: DaremoS on August 05, 2018, 05:31:17 pm
I'm suffering a problem with a disk:
from time to time the edited TAG information for my movies collection is lost.
So I have to repair it from the disk data.

Any suggestion?

Movie metadata is stored in the MC library databases and may also be stored in .xml files, called sidecar files, if you have selected that option. The sidecar files are stored in the same folder as the movie files with the same name, just .xml on the end.

Tag information is stored in the MC library.  You can try restoring your library from a backed up copy.  MC makes regular backups.

The information may also be found in the sidecar files.  These files are in the same folder as the video files.  If such a sidecar file exists for a video, running "Update Library (from tags)" should load the info from it.
