Title: 27.0.26 M2TS Playback issues
Post by: BRAWLman on November 08, 2020, 05:31:46 pm
New to the forum and MC...
Attempted MakeMKV playback of Ready Player One and get
1) Failed to open or parse file (hr=0x80004005) *see screenshot/logfile -36
2) attempted to open largest file in "stream" folder and get "something went wrong with playback" *screenshot/logfile -12

No issues with CloneBD files (2) or AnyDVD (1) files and in process of Running AnyDVD on Ready Player One disk to test.
Disabled Malwarebytes A.M. and Microsoft Defender AV with no change.
Please advise on what else to try and nothing came up in search for 27.0.26 with 1) above...

Update: AnyDVD copy plays, so perhaps something happened to the MakeMKV version...
Still interested on what Parsing is?

This error, is geek speak for MC not being able to understand what the file contains.  You will see this if the file is (still) encrypted or corrupted.

Apparently MakeMKV corrupted something, as after I ran AnyDVD/CloneBD the Movie played back fine on MC ;)
