Title: Video flashing (may be related to madVR)
Post by: kstuart on April 20, 2015, 05:30:19 pm
I am using MC20 latest build with RO HQ (madVR).

Sometimes I will play a video file in MC20 and the video will flash on and off (ie the picture alternates with a momentary black screen).  The effect can vary in number of flashes per second.

Sometimes I can get it to stop by pausing and resuming, restarting at the beginning, restarting MC20 or rebooting the PC.

I can play the video another time and no flashing occurs.

It only happens in Exclusive Mode (necessary on my setup for good performance), I can get it to stop momentarily by moving the mouse and bringing it back to Windowed Mode.

Has anyone seen any previous references to this phenomenon ?

Sounds like you have something on the PC which is interrupting Exclusive Mode (e.g. hovering over MC's controls with a mouse)
Enabling the "delay switch to exclusive mode by 3 seconds" option should at least prevent constant flickering in/out of Exclusive Mode, but it won't address the underlying issue.

You need to either find what is pulling madVR out of Exclusive Mode, or stop using it.
I prefer to use Windowed Mode all the time, even if it means using different scaling/processing settings.
