Title: Using J River to play from ipod
Post by: ade_jriver on March 01, 2009, 01:20:42 am
Hello, new user

Apologies if this has been covered before:

At home I use mac/itunes to manage my ipods. At work I use xp/MC13 (trial) or media jukebox, I have very little space on my work hard drive so I'm using the ipod and playing from there, through the pc/J River, out to my dac/headphones. I have various formats on my ipod - AIFF, ALAC, m4a etc and would like to be able to play them all, is this possible? Also J river displays all the playlists on the ipod but in some of those playlists there are tracks missing. Finally (posted before, but no answer) is it possible to see the artwork when playing through the ipod?

In your situation, MC or MJ should play anything they are capable of playing.  If you have trouble, move a file to a local drive and try playing it.  Some formats require installing DirectShow or other software.  If you find a problem playing a format, try our Wiki (link above) or post on the board appropriate for the player.
