I'm trying to upgrade 2 pc's to MC19....one is currently the server for MC18 and the other is a client.
I upgraded the server first with no issues. Next I attempted to upgrade the client and the installer starts and moves through the "accept window" and the "express/custom" window and then hangs....ie "installer not responding".
Anyone have any suggestions? I haven't uninstalled MC18 on either the server or client.
Thanks for suggestions.

Security software blocking?
-
Windows firewall running with no antivirus/malware software. MC18 works flawlessly....latest version upgrades never an issue.
Thanks

Not even Microsoft Security Essentials?
-
Not familiar with security essentials. It's Windows XP/Service Pack3 with all updates.

Can you post a screenshot of your Task Manager > Process tab? Click the Image Name column to sort before taking the screenshot.
-
I've attached the printscreen per request.

I don't know what the problem could be, but try shutting down the iTunes/iPod processes and the Amazon Music player process.
The firewall might also be stopping something.

Jim, I shut down the services as suggested......still unable to install. Firewall looks okay...Windows notifies if it blocks and I've received no notifications.
Thanks

Disable it to test.
-
Done.....no change, install continues to crash
-
I'd guess this one: robotaskbaricon.exe
-
Not the Robo icon. I shut down the process.....MC19 install continues to crash

Did you use the same file to update both PCs. Could it be the one that is failing is a bad download. Can you use a USB stick to get the file from the PC that installed correctly and try that file on the uncooperative pc?
-
I've actually downloaded a new file and tried that file.....no change. The file that worked on the server pc was copied over my network from my desktop(client).....the one that I'm unable to install on.
Thanks for all the help. Hopefully, we'll get it figured out.

Resolved. I loaded another library(unloaded current library) and the install completed. I've got some file issues....ie 2 files etc. but this change fixed the install issue and I now have a version of MC19 running on both PCs.
Thanks again for all the folks that offered suggestions.
