Title: New Nvidia driver fixes HDMI Handshake issue
Post by: B4Unyu on May 25, 2018, 01:58:19 pm
driver version 397.93 (2018.5.24) HD Audio 1.3.37.4

before this new driver, nvidia drivers wouldn't release the hdmi connection on a yamaha a/v receiver. had to manually select between hdmi, optical or analog (on auto, nvidia wouldn't allow it to switch out.) now, whether the tv/display attached to the receiver is powered on or off, or, whichever output is used in the media software ... it switches without intervention.

don't know if this will help everyone -those who had to resort to a hardware switch of some sort ... but for me, this certainly is a welcomed surprise. as well as their previous driver that added 88 and 176 sample rate support.

[Thanks to RD James for the heads up on that. wouldn't have known without seeing your post.]
