Title: DSD files stored in WavPack files not imported
Post by: bodiebill on July 30, 2017, 04:28:05 am
Using MC 22.0.108, I noticed that DSD files stored in WavPack are not imported by MC. They are reported as 'bad' when I do a library import.
I am surprised, as in the version history I read:

"22.0.71 (2/7/2017) NEW: DSD files stored in WavPack files now import and play, converted to PCM. Before, they would fail to import or play."

Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure about MC22 (since development has ceased on that version) but it looks like they are detected and do work correctly in MC23 as of 23.0.20. Otherwise WavPack DSD files are played back as PCM in MC22 (meaning there's no way to playback WavPack DSD files as DSD in MC22).

23.0.20 (7/17/17)

Fixed: Enable DSD in Wavepack.

23.0.13 (6/28/2017)

NEW: WavPack DSD files play as native DSD if the DSD bitstreaming feature is enabled.

Thanks!
I use MC only as database (the best available as far as I know), with the audio player on another (low footprint) PC. So it is enough that the WavPack packed DSD files are recognised and added to the library. Would be great if I could make this work with MC22, as advertised.

I purchased MC23 and now it works!
