Well, for starters MC for Windows supports DirectShow filters like LAV Filters and madVR, whereas macOS and Linux do not.

I should have been more precise, it was clear for me that madVr is not supported. But what are the quality drawbacks of using macOS instead of windows in RO Standard?

It should be similar to RO Standard, if not slightly better. Future plans for OSX and Linux video playback may increase the quality to a level more similar to RO HQ, but I'm unsure of how far in the future those are. Likely beyond MC25.
