Title: Handheld sync preferences
Post by: sstyle on January 31, 2016, 03:34:17 pm
Hi!

I have a problem: My handheld is high-end DAP "QLS-QA360" and it does not support TAG info, so it just read a structure. But the MediaCenter has not a setting for file name. Only for folders. So as result I have a very long file names. Look like %NUM. %ARTIST% - %Track name%. I wish to customize it to %NUM. %Track name%.

Full path should be: /%ARTIST%/%ALBUM%/%NUM%. %TRACK_NAME%

Another question: It support only 44Khz for FLAC files. So I should use a WAV for a "high-res" files. I see there is an option "use encoder only for high-bitrate". Ok. But where I can set which bitrate is high?

if all you want is to change the file name, just use the Rename, Move & Copy Tool (right click on selected files or F6). read about it in the WIKI, and test your template with a couple of files first.

No time to give you the link but just google it

It can rename a files only from library, but can not on external drive without adding to library?

Correct. Media Center, in general, is designed to work only on files Imported into the Library. You can certainly import files on external disks, though. There is not a good reason to not import files you need it to manage. That's what importing is: telling MC it is allowed to use the files.

The only file management tool MC has that works on non-imported files is the Drives & Devices section of the Tree.
