Anyboody else seeing directshow issues with MC14?

I choose haali as the source filter, ffdshow as the decoder, and try all the various rendering options but it doesnt make a difference. MC wont play mkv or mp4 files.
Using the same settings in MC13 is no problem at all. Perfect playback.

Change the playback type to automatic (I guess it uses the quicktime engine) and I get playback, but cant move the timeline scrubber.

Instead of Automatic, use JRiver Video Engine DirectShow.

We intend to make a change here that should correct this problem.

I'm getting a directshow error trying to play mkv files across the library server. Playing them directly(same network path as in library) works fine.

You're probably missing the filters on the client side.  Try installing CCCP.  Turn off the task bar options for FFDSHOW and Haali.

All needed filters are installed. The files play fine when started directly from the client using a local library, but not through the library server.

Yes. It seems mkv files is the problem. Others play fine.

Try changing the options for mp4 in MC/Tools/Options/File Types.

Change from Automatic to JRiver Video....

I report the same thing. When the library is opened directly files playback ok. Files accross library server dont playback. (mkvs. mp4s)

Problem is still there after changing for mp4 video as well.

Translation of the error would be 'Unspecified error'

Is this a confirmed bug? Anyone able to play mp4 or mkv through library server?

I seem to be able to play avi's ok.

I'm experiencing the same problems as llafriel describes. AVI's and WMV's work fine when connected to a Library Server, but with MKV's I get the same error.

When I change to a local library MKV playback works like a charm.

I think it can safely be classed as a bug. I'll keep reporting it till it gets fixed.

Some video format can not be played from Library Server.  We have been having this problem for quite some time.  Are you sure it works in MC13?

I will be looking at this problem and hope to find a solution.
