Title: Licensing clarification request
Post by: AGAWA on March 21, 2021, 08:50:10 am
Pls clarify the following and advise accordingly:
I want to purchase a MC license for Mac;
- at first I will run MC on Macbook
- later I would like to move the license to most likely Mac Mini M1
What is the right license for me and how the license is transferred to another system.
thanks

MC for Mac is the license.  Here's how to use on your other machine:

Thank you,
I have read it before and I do not follow the concept of 14 day validity.
Does it mean that MC will be usable for 14 days only after this I have to RESTORE?

How can I get MC to have permanent (perpetual) license?
Perhaps the first installation achieves permanent status?
And other systems require renewals?

Sorry, wiki nicely written , but it is not clear to me.

cheers

Once the license is installed, it's permanent for that installation of MC.

will it be possible to move this permanent license from Macbook installation to Mac Mini , say, in one year? I will make my Macbook obsolete in one year.
And then have permanent on Mac Mini? (without all the fuss with restore every 14 days).
Or this requires another license ?

You can install the license on as many Macs as you personally own, so there is no problems with getting a new device in a while.

The 14 days is only how long the license file is valid, during which time you can use it to unlock Media Center, after which you need to request a new one - but once the license file is installed in Media Center, MC itself is permanently unlocked with no expiration.

thanks,
as usual I was reading something (14 days etc) and keeping something imaginary in my mind.
Now all clear.
