Try a reboot, reinstall.  That's not an MC20 problem.  Video driver, antivirus, etc.  glynor has a wiki topic on this type of problem.

got her working.... Acronis restore to 9/06/14 then redownloaded 20, left 19 open, installed 20, tested it, worked with no crashes, then reinstalled all updates, rebooted. working now.
thanks.

Just an FYI for others

i redownloaded all windows updates... no crashes, then downloaded NVidia GeForce's newest GeForce Gaming Driver ( 11/10/2014 - Ver. 344.65) and that instantly crashes jriver when choosing to play a file.

I've now rolled gaming driver back, and turned off updates. and working as it should.

I'm using Nvidia's latest driver 344.65 on two separate builds (Windows 7 32-bit & Windows 8 64-bit) and haven't had any issues.

maybe it's a setting then in the new geforce version? this htpc build (5 years) has not had similiar problems until this update.
