Happy New Year all!
I am currently experiencing an issue where if I am playing a DVBS or DVBS2 channel and then click on stop, MC seems to hang for a few seconds then quits. It also seems very slow when changing DVBS/S2 channels and waits for a signal lock for quite some time before the channel appears.
The issue does not occur when viewing IPTV channels.
I am currently running 31.0.87 64-bit on Windows 10 22H2.
I have removed and re-installed the product and restored the library but am still seeing the same issue.
The card in use is a TBS6982 dual tuner and has the latest driver.
Has anyone got any suggestions of what I can try next?

Do you have other TV software that might be locked onto your tuner?
-
Hi Jim,
No nothing at all. This machine is dedicated to MC and used as a server and client.
The only thing that has changed recently is that I uninstalled the sound card a while ago and connected the machine to a sound bar using HDMI and set the audio output to bitstream.
I doubt that has any bearing on this issue, but you never know!
-
Please explain the "used as a server and a client". You probably only need to run JRiver once.
-
Hi Jim,
MC is running only once on this machine. It is used for TV and music with a screen connected directly to it and a few client machines around the house connect to it for the same.
The clients have not been used in the past few weeks, so the machine has only been used for watching TV locally during this time.
-
What is the full version of MC?
-
31.0.87 64-bit.
-
Did you configure Windows Defender?
-
I configured defender as per the recommendations on here a while ago. Nothing has changed with those other than the version number of MC, and when I upgrade MC, I change the exclusions in defender to match the new folder with the new version number.

See if you can get a log. The wiki has a Logging topic.
-
Hi Jim,
Logs have been generated and sent to logs at jriver.
-
As a test, I have re-run the TV setup and removed all TV channels and guide data. Have re-scanned the DVBS/S2 channels again but it has made no difference.
-
I have also now installed DVB Dream software as another test and can complete a scan, stop, start and change channels without issue and view 2 channels at the same time using PiP, so I do not believe the issue is with the tuner card.
-
Do you have any ideas @Yaobing ?
-
Yes, I found from your logs that the crash happened when MC was still handling an event when playback was stopped. I made a fix which hopefully will work. If my observations are correct, you should not get a crash if you let it play longer before stopping.
-
I played a single channel for two minutes then clicked stop and the same hang then crash happened.
Do you need me to send another log?
-
Yes, send it directly to me. yaobing @
-
Hi Yaobing,
Logs have been sent. Thank you for your help.
-
This was solved with a modified DLL that Yaobing sent me.
Has this been rolled into the newer versions @yaobing?
-
Yes in MC32.
