Title: Remote Desktop Connection Interrupts Play
Post by: phil1331 on July 30, 2023, 10:48:34 am
Hi all,

I suspect this is a Windows issue, not JRiver, but thought I'd ask to confirm and also see if there's a way to fix it.

Whenever I use Windows Remote Desktop to connect to (or disconnect from) a computer playing music with JRiver, playback stops. Under Remote Desktop Connection's settings, there's an Audio section, and I've tried each of the options there.  Same behavior each time.  I'd just like a way to jump to another computer and not interrupt the music.  Or play something, and when I disconnect, it doesn't stop playing.

Not a high priority problem, but curious if anyone has any ideas.  Appreciate it.

I would try switching from RDP to VNC (ex. TIghtVNC (https://www.tightvnc.com/download.php)). RDP is more tightly integrated with user account security, VNC should be less disruptive.
