Title: Extremly slow ripping speed from JMC18
Post by: Trond-Eirik on April 14, 2013, 02:36:15 pm
Hi

I am experiencing extremly slow ripping speed in JMC18.
Ripping a dvd using AnyDVD takes approx 20 minuts. When ripping from JMC18 it takes many hours.

Any known fixes for this issue?

This issue seems to be around a lot with this software. Any solution? I would like to use this software for my library but I cannot sit through WEEKS just to rip my library due to the slooooooooow rip speeds.

Virus checker?

Do you have a different drive to try?

I do not have another drive to try but I think I will purchase one and see how it performs. I will also disable the anti-virus and see what happens. It is very odd...I also check the CDs to see if they have scratches so perhaps the software is being more diligent with error checking; I only run IE when I am doing a rip so I can find cover art should MC not have it. I check Taskmaster and it shows CPU at about 1% and memory with about 75% free. More peculiar, there will be times when it runs just fine, going at 15X or higher for a rip...and then it just goes right back to the 3.8X (like it is at right now as I type this note) and on occasion even slower...down to 0.6X!

For the record, I am running MC 19.

Not sure what the issue is but thoroughly frustrated.

I've had failed rips using dbPoweramp...tried ripping the same CDs in MC with success, but in one case it took literally overnight.
